The Federation Wallonia-Brussels is an institution on behalf of the French speaking community from Brussels and Wallonia. The federation is active in the fields of education, culture, sports, youth, scientific research and houses of justice. The federation includes a parliament, a government and public services (the Ministery of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels, the Office of Birth and Childhood, the RTBF, the Office of the General Commissioner of International Relations, …) in order to accomplish its tasks. |

The library Filigranes is installed in Brussels (Kunstlaan / Avenue des Arts) since 1989, where it was founded by Marc Filipson. It has an area of 2600 m2 and is open 7 days on 7. Its turnover is in the top 5 of European independent bookstores. Filigranes designed its reputation particularly around services offered to customers: large variety of books (180000 references), chairs and armchairs, encounters and dedications of authors, coffee and snacks, mini-concerts. All these activities invite the client to hang out and read a book. The library is organized into various specialized areas: press, CDs and DVDs, literature, wines, practical life, coffee, humanities, arts and crafts, fine arts, travel, youth, comic, international library. |

The NH Brussels City Centre hotel certainly lives up to its name. Just outside is the city’s top shopping street, Avenue Louise, as well as many of Brussels’ most famous restaurants. Flemish masterpieces are on display at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts nearby, while the beautiful Grand Palace is just a 20-minutes walk away. The UBAEAV (Union belge pour l’Abolition de l’Expérimentation sur l’Animal vivant, la Protection de la Nature et de l’Environnement ASBL – a non-profit organization) was founded in 1981 to fight against vivisection and more particularly against live experiments on animals. This practice consisting in cutting up a live and often conscious animal is morally and ethically intolerable as are live experiments for products which lead to a slow and painful death. |
